I'm running for WAGEC with my own daughter

It's never lost on me when I walk beside women and children left homeless and stripped completely bare by violent, threatening and controlling behaviours, that could have been me and my girls.  Really it could be any one of us.  Many of us have experienced it first hand or know of someone close to us who has.  The problem doesn't go away when no one is watching.  Living in an ongoing state of danger is so isolating and it destroys lives. 

In fact, intimate partner violence is the leading contributor to death, disability and illness in Australian women aged 18-44yrs. On average, one woman per week is killed in Australia by a current or former male partner.  

In my lifetime, I am so determined to create awareness and contribute to a solution.  Afterall, it could have been me.
